Description of Program and Relief

New Horizons Domestic Violence

Recognizing that COVID-19 related quarantines and social distancing efforts may exacerbate domestic violence, New Horizons Domestic Violence Services is continuing to provide services remotely. Those living in the Middlesex county area who are affected by, or seeking guidance related to, domestic violence during the COVID-19 outbreak may call the organization’s 24/7 hotline for assistance. Individuals and families who are not served by a local domestic violence service provider may contact Safe Connect, a statewide platform developed by New Horizons, from anywhere in Connecticut to receive an assessment of need, emotional support, and safety planning. Through Safe Connect, domestic violence counselors are available by phone, chat, or email.
