Description of Program and Relief

The Dancers’ Fund

Chicago Dancers United is providing grants of up to $4,000 to dance professionals for medical and certain living expenses related to contracting COVID-19. The Dancers’ Fund may pay for costs associated with doctor and hospital visits, surgery, medical testing, therapy, rehabilitation, medication, and in some cases, home health care, housing, utilities, insurance, and other basic needs.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

In order to qualify for assistance from the Dancers’ Fund, individuals must:

  • Be a dance professional (e.g., company dancer, freelance dancer, choreographer, musical theatre chorus dancer, full-time dance instructor, full-time class or rehearsal musician, or full-time administrative, production or technical assistant – other dance professionals will be considered on a case-by-case basis); and

  • Complete an application.

Funds will be paid directly to the entity or person to which the debt is owed, not to the dance professional.
