Description of Program and Relief

United Way of Southeast Mississippi Covid-19 Relief Program

The United Way of Southeast Mississippi has established an emergency relief fund for individuals that have lost income due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The organization is providing grants of up to $500 per household to assist with overdue rent or utility bills.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

To qualify for assistance from the United Way of Southeast Mississippi COVID-19 Relief Program, individuals must provide:

  • A copy of a driver’s license or photo ID showing residence in Forrest, Lamar, Mario, or Perry County;

  • Proof of lost employment or reduced pay due to COVID-19; and

  • Proof that rent or utility bill is past due at the time of the application.

Awarded funding is paid directly to rent or utility companies, not to the applicants. Applicants should allow 5-7 business days for approved payments to be mailed.
