Description of Program and Relief

Emergency Food Assistance Program

The Emergency Food Assistance Program helps New York City residents access free food quickly by directing them to food pantries for groceries, and to community kitchens for cooked meals.

Individuals can call the Emergency Food Hotline at 866-888-8777 or 311. Callers are provided with hours of operations and directions to the nearest food pantries and community kitchens. Individuals can also visit Foodhelp.nyc for a map of food pantries and community kitchens.

Some locations offer kosher food. Everyone is eligible for emergency food assistance, regardless of immigration status or income.
