Description of Program and Relief

Delivery Provider Commission Cap to Support San Francisco Restaurants During the COVID-19 Crisis

In an effort to support the restaurant industry during the COVID-19 local emergency, Mayor London N. Breed has ordered that third-party food delivery providers, such as GrubHub and Caviar, may only charge restaurants a commission of up to 15% of the purchase price of online orders during the local emergency.

Effective April 13, 2020 until businesses are permitted to reopen for indoor dining service.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Covered restaurants include San Francisco-based restaurants using a third-party same-day food delivery service to deliver food and beverages to customers in San Francisco.
