Description of Program and Relief

Emergency Cooling Centers

Los Angeles County has identified several public facilities to serve as Emergency Cooling Centers, which will operate based on heat forecasts from the National Weather Service and in regions identified by the Department of Public Health. These centers will provide members of the public who lack air-conditioning at home with relief from the heat, free of charge. The centers will operate in compliance with physical distancing and other safety criteria from the current Health Officer Order.
