Description of Program and Relief

“Work Long Beach” Matches Out-of-Work Childcare Professionals with Families and Essential Personnel

The City of Long Beach’s workforce board, Pacific Gateway, has launched a new online platform for hourly labor: “Work Long Beach.” The program matches out-of-work childcare professionals with essential personnel and families, including low-income families and those in public safety and healthcare.

Individuals seeking work must complete an initial registration process. Once the worker has completed the initial registration process, a City employee will review all background information and, if approved, enter that worker into the program database.

Families and parents can also use the program to search for available childcare workers and view availability and rates.
