Description of Program and Relief

Health Insurance Through AccessHealthCT

Through the already-existing AccessHealthCT program, Connecticut residents that become unemployed due to the effects of COVID-19 and as a result lose essential minimum insurance coverage may participate in a special open enrollment period to obtain health insurance. This program is also available to individuals whose COBRA insurance expires.

Effective Immediately.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Must be a Connecticut resident. Available to those who received health insurance through their employer but became unemployed and lost coverage. Also available to those whose COBRA expired. Candidates applying as a result of the special open enrollment period for COVID-19 must call (855) 909-2428 to enroll.

Application Deadlines (If Applicable)

Enrollment must generally occur within 60 days of a qualifying event (i.e., unemployment or the expiration of COBRA).
