Description of Program and Relief

Child Care Services

Delaware’s Child Care Service provides support for families with children to enable the caretaker to hold employment, obtain training or meet special needs of the parent or child. Although there is no specific guidance related to COVID-19, emergency health workers or other individuals that must physically attend work due to COVID-19 may be eligible for this program.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Child care services are available for children under the age of 13. Eligibility is based on a family’s income and need for service. The income limit is currently set at 185% of the Federal Poverty level. Additionally, if, at any time, a family’s gross income exceeds 85% of the State Median Income or the family no longer has a need for child care assistance, the child care case will be closed. If a child is older than 13 and has a special need, an individual may be still be eligible to receive child care.
