Description of Program and Relief

Chicago: Temporary Housing for Nursing Home Workers

The City of Chicago has partnered with Hotel Julian, The Godfrey Hotel, and London House to provide temporary housing to Chicago’s nursing home workers. Nursing home workers in Chicago (as well as City employees) who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 can stay at Hotel Julian to isolate themselves until they recover. Nursing home workers who have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 (along with other Chicago healthcare workers dealing with COVID-19 patients) can stay at The Godfrey Hotel or London House if they wish to avoid the possibility of exposing others to COVID-19, given the possibility for asymptomatic transmission. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The hotels will provide nursing home workers staying at the hotels with free meals and free parking.
