Extended Unemployment Compensation Program for Quarantined First Responders and Medical Personnel

Description of Program and Relief

The Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) will provide wage replacement benefits for first responders and medical personnel who have been quarantined for COVID-19 as a result of their increased risk of exposure in the course of their work. The wage replacement benefits while in quarantine will cover first responders and any employee in the medical field that has had direct contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Must be a first responder or any employee in the medical field that has had direct contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 and that has been quarantined as a result.
