Description of Program and Relief

Order Extending Certain Licenses, Permits, Registrations, and Other Governmental Authorizations

In light of COVID-19, the Governor Ordered that all licenses, permits, registrations, or other authorizations issued by the State of Maryland or any agency of the State of Maryland that are expiring and would be renewable during Maryland’s state of emergency will be extended and will not expire until 30 days after the state of emergency is lifted. This applies to—but is not limited to—driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations, and professional licenses.

Effective immediately and until the state of emergency is lifted

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Available for all licenses, permits, or registrations set to expire after March 5, 2020 which would otherwise be renewable during the state of emergency under applicable laws and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations, and professional licenses.
