Description of Program and Relief

Waiver of Timeframe for Certified Nurse Aide Training

During the Governor’s declared State of Emergency regarding COVID-19, the requirement that a nurse aide must complete the nurse aide training within 90 days of commencing employment is suspended, provided that the long-term care facility at which the nurse aide is employed ensures that the nurse aid is competent to provide nursing and nursing-related services and demonstrates competency in the skills and techniques necessary to care for residents’ needs.
