Description of Program and Relief

Temporary Suspension of Certain Parking Restrictions

Detroit temporarily suspended certain parking restrictions in connection with the city’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order, which requires all non-critical businesses to temporarily close and all residents to stay home except for essential needs. While the Executive Order is in effect, the city will not issue parking tickets or tow vehicles for the following parking violations: (1) going over 72-hour parking limits, (2) failure to display residential parking permits (RPP), (3) parking in peak-hour tow-away zones, or (4) parking in street cleaning zones on cleaning days.
