Description of Program and Relief

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Each month, the Nevada State Division of Welfare and Supportive Services provides food assistance to individuals and families through SNAP benefits. These offerings were previously in place, and remain in place in response to COVID-19. Additionally, Nevada has extended for two months SNAP benefits that would have otherwise been scheduled to close on April 1, 2020 or May 1, 2020 in light of COVID-19.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

To receive SNAP benefits, household income and other resources have to be under income limits available here: https://dwss.nv.gov/SNAP/SNAP_FAQs-3. There is an asset limit of $2,250, unless at least one household member is 60 or older or disabled, in which case $3,250 in assets is allowed.
