Description of Program and Relief

Wavier Of Maximum Hours Restrictions For Individuals Providing Care For Persons With Developmental Disabilities

During the period where facilities used to treat individuals with development disabilities are closed to combat the spread of COVID-19, in-home providers and self-directed employees may work more than the hours approved in an individual’s service plan, as long the hours do not exceed the individual’s overall budget. Also, during this period, self-directed employees may temporarily work over 40 hours a week if needed to cover the hours authorized in an individual’s service plan.

Providers should work with their Support Coordinator to update to the individual’s service plan as soon as possible, and no later than May 1, 2020. In order to ensure payment, the provider will need to document the hours worked and services provided.
