Description of Program and Relief

Extension of Expiration Dates of DMV-Issued Items

The Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles (“DMV”) has extended all expiration dates within March to at least April 30, 2020, due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, including deadlines on license registration and extending inspection stickers expirations. For a complete list of all extensions, read the DMV’s notice.

The Cranston DMV will be providing the following limited services and transactions by reservation only, but Rhode Islanders are encouraged not to go “unless absolutely necessary”: Driver license, learner permit, State ID, Vehicle Registration and Title, Adjudication, Commercial driver licenses and permits, and Dealer services (drop off and checks only).
