Temporary Suspension of Eviction Proceedings

Description of Program and Relief

On March 18, 2020, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued an order suspending eviction hearings and writs of possession for 60 days to prevent renters from being displaced and to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19. The order does not relieve tenants from their obligations to timely pay rent pursuant to their lease agreements.
