Unemployment Insurance

Unemployed workers affected by COVID-19 may be eligible for benefits under already-existing Utah unemployment insurance, which provides temporary income for workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own and are able and available for employment.

In response to COVID-19, workers may be eligible for traditional unemployment insurance if they (i) have been laid off, temporarily furloughed, or have had their hours reduced, (ii) are able and available for work but their place of employment has been quarantined, or (iii) are quarantined, but not showing symptoms, and will return to work.
