Description of Program and Relief
Free School-Provided Meals for Children
The West Virginia Department of Education Office of Child Nutrition and all 55 counties have worked together to open more than 500 sites across the state to ensure that children who require breakfasts and lunches will receive meals during the statewide school closure due to COVID-19. Each county has developed a meal distribution system and has been encouraged to transition to multi-day food packs.
