Description of Program and Relief

Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children WIC Program

Wisconsin’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides nutrition education, breastfeeding education and support, supplemental nutritious foods and connections to other community services for pregnant women, infants, women who are breastfeeding, postpartum women and children younger than 5.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Individuals are qualified if they live in Wisconsin, meet the income guidelines, have a health or nutrition need based on a nutrition assessment completed at the WIC clinic and fall into one of the following categories:

  • Pregnant

  • Breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age

  • Had a baby or was pregnant or was pregnant in the past six months

  • Baby under age 1

  • Child younger than age 5

  • Families can determine if they are eligible by filling out the online prescreening tool here.
