Telephone Assistance–Lifeline

Lifeline is a federal program that allows eligible customers to get up to $9.25 towards either their monthly phone or Internet bill (but not both).

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Individuals are eligible if they or someone in their household participates in one of the following federal assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA), Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit or Tribal Programs (and lives on federally-recognized Tribal lands). Individuals who live on Tribal lands and may also get an additional $25 off their monthly bill if they or anyone in their household participates in any of the aforementioned federal assistance programs, Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance, Head Start (only households meeting the income qualifying standard), Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF) or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.

Restriction: One Lifeline discount per household.
