Joe Simons Quoted in The Deal Pipeline

Litigation partner Joseph J. Simons was quoted in an article discussing the Department of Justice's (DOJ) decision to forgo the preliminary injunction phase in its trial against H&R Block Inc.'s planned $287.5 million acquisition of TaxAct, a rival provider of do-it-yourself tax preparation software. Joe told The Deal Pipeline that going straight to trial adds risk for the DOJ because the standard for winning a preliminary injunction is somewhat lower than winning a full blown merger trial.
