BPCE and Natixis Sell CIFG Stake

Paul, Weiss clients BPCE and Natixis completed their exit from CIFG Holding Inc., the first troubled bond insurer to successfully restructure and receive a ratings upgrade after the credit crisis, earning Paul, Weiss an award for "Restructuring Deal of the Year" in 2009 from the International Financial Law Review. Assured Guaranty paid approximately $450 million in cash to acquire CIFG, which had been controlled by our clients prior to the restructuring.

The Paul, Weiss team included litigation partners Martin Flumenbaum and Marc Falcone; corporate partner Kelley Parker; and tax partner Jeffrey Samuels.
