An article co-authored by corporate partner David Lakhdhir and Stephen Cooke, head of mergers and acquisitions at Slaughter & May, "The Road to Harmonization in the EU," appeared in the November 6 New York Law Journal. In the article, the authors discuss conflicting regulatory and market changes that have occurred as a result of the soaring volume of cross-border mergers and acquisitions in Europe. They also explore the implementation and variations of the EU Takeovers Directive, which was adopted in 2004 with the objective of harmonizing takeover laws across the European Union.
