Temporary Suspension of Several Regulations Related to Transportation of Goods and Supplies
Description of Program and Relief
On March 20, 2020, the Governor of Iowa suspended certain regulations relating to the transportation of agricultural supplies and commodities, food, medical supplies, cleaning products, and other household goods on all highways in Iowa until the end of the Proclamation (below). The suspended regulations concern permits for, and the movement of, oversize and overweight loads of vaccines, antivirals, prescription drugs, protective equipment, other necessary medical assets, food, medical supplies, cleaning products, other household goods, agricultural supplies, and commodities or any other goods and supplies necessary to respond to this public health disaster and its economic effects. The Governor also suspended regulations that restricted the hours of service of motor carriers and drivers of commercial motor vehicles while transporting the aforementioned supplies and goods.
