Attached is the September issue of Paul, Weiss's M&A at a Glance publication. According to these most recent numbers for August 2012, the domestic U.S. M&A market is holding steady against general declines in the broader global sector. The U.S. saw a second straight month of dollar volume increase in the overall, strategic and sponsor-related deal markets and continued strengthening in the average size of deals, in particular for sponsor-related deals. (See Figure 1.) August also saw the debut of the Chemicals sector among the most active U.S. target industries, which makes its first appearance since we began this publication in April 2012. (See Figure 2.)
