Litigation partner Lew Clayton's intellectual property litigation column in last Wednesday's New York Law Journal discusses the recently passed America Invents Act (AIA), the most significant revision of the patent laws in 50 years. Although the AIA, passed on September 16, 2011, fails to address a number of issues that have been the target of many critics of the patent system, the statute is likely to alter significantly the practice of patent prosecution and patent litigation. The column also discusses significant recent copyright, trademark and patent decisions. Litigation associates Peter Sandel and Rachale Miller assisted in the preparation of this column.
