Michele Hirshman Comments in The New York Times

Litigation partner Michele Hirshman provided comment for the July 31 New York Times article "Running Government as a Cash Business." With official corruption often in the news lately, the article takes a look at a few politicians who appear to have gotten away with their misdeeds, and some who nearly did.

Michele commented that while in her former position as chief of the public corruption unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, she focused on cases that uncovered a significant betrayal of the public's trust, noting that prosecutors faced special challenges in proving such cases, like needing insiders to reveal the motivations of those involved.
