Paul, Weiss Wins Immigration Asylum for Client from Belize
Practices
On April 5, Paul, Weiss obtained asylum for a man from Belize who had been harassed and physically attacked because of his sexual orientation. In Belize, police officers refused to assist him when they learned about the homophobic motive for the attack. Because he feared that if he were forced to return to Belize he would once again be subject to persecution, he filed for asylum and the petition was granted.
The Paul, Weiss team included, among others, litigation associates Richard Eisenberg and Ethan Krasnoo.
