Steven Herzog Speaks at Texas Law About Reuniting Migrant Families

Litigation counsel Steven Herzog participated in a conversation, “Reuniting Separated Migrant Families Through Pro Bono Partnerships,” with Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, hosted by the University of Texas Law School on February 23. Steve, who leads a steering committee on family separation in the ACLU’s class action on behalf of separated parents, Ms. L v. ICE, and Lee, the lead ACLU lawyer on the case, discussed their work to locate migrant parents deported without their children, and to reunite and secure monetary compensation for separated families.

The conversation was part of the school’s Mithoff Program, which highlights successful pro bono collaborations between nonprofit organizations and private law firms.
