Moses Silverman Discusses Working With Detained Asylum Seekers in Texas

Of counsel Moses Silverman made trips this fall to a family detention facility (jail) in south Texas to work with women and children who recently walked across the border and are seeking asylum. The Immigration Justice Campaign asked Moses to write a short piece about the experience. In the article, Moses describes the challenges presented by the government’s changing regulations, the difficulty returning home after witnessing the suffering of these jailed women and children who are seeking safety and a better life, and the community of volunteers that has grown around the pro bono assistance effort.
