Bob Schumer Named "Dealmaker of the Year" by The American Lawyer
Corporate department chair and co-head of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group Robert B. Schumer was named to The American Lawyer's list of 2011 "Dealmakers of the Year." Bob and his team are recognized for their role in the $3.3 billion sale of Warner Music to Access Industries and Time Warner Cable, Inc.'s, $3 billion acquisition of cable company Insight Communications Co. This is the second time Bob has earned Dealmaker of the Year; the first time was for his role in Time Warner Inc.'s acquisition of Adelphia Communications. Bob is one of four Paul, Weiss lawyers in seven years to receive this recognition. Past honorees include Paul D. Ginsberg for his role in Triarc Companies Inc.'s acquisition of Wendy's International, Andrew N. Rosenberg for his role in the CIT Group bankruptcy, and Jordan E. Yarett for his role in the securitization of Dunkin' Donuts.
