Litigation partner David Brown and pro bono client Pablo Fernandez were featured in the February 17 episode of the podcast “Wrongful Conviction with Jason Flom.” The host of the podcast, Jason Flom, is a music industry executive, a board member of the Innocence Project and an advocate for criminal justice reform. This episode tells the story of how Mr. Fernandez was framed by corrupt NYPD officers and convicted in 1996 of a murder that he did not commit, which led to 24 years of unjust incarceration. Paul, Weiss began representing Mr. Fernandez in 2005 and fought to overturn his unjust conviction until he was finally exonerated in 2019, and continues to represent him in civil suits against the city and state of New York.
