Scott Barshay, Jeffrey Marell and Steven Williams Participate in The Deal’s Corporate Governance Conference

Corporate partners Scott Barshay, Jeffrey Marell and Steven Williams spoke at The Deal’s 2018 Corporate Governance conference, an exclusive gathering of corporate decision makers and their advisors to discuss strategies and challenges in managing their companies to maximize shareholder value. As a keynote speaker, Scott was interviewed by Jim Cramer, founder of TheStreet, Inc., host of “Mad Money with Jim Cramer” and an anchor on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.” Jeff’s panel, “Shareholder Engagement: Examining Board and Stakeholder Interaction,” addressed key regulatory issues such as retail investor participation in proxy battles and potential proxy fight rule changes. Steve’s panel, “How Do You Handle Insurgents?” addressed when companies should dig in and fight, or settle and allow an activist investor into their boardroom, how to keep the discourse civil, and how boards can be their own activist. The event took place on June 7 in New York City.
